Send Sheryl to the Circle G Ranch!
Donation protected
Send Sheryl to Horn Lake, MS, May 5-8, 2013, where she will:
· complete a site visit to Elvis Presley's endangered Circle G Ranch
· review the Circle G Foundation's (CGF) documentation and research efforts with its Memphis-based management team
· represent the CGF at the Horn Lake board meeting May 7 for the "Spirit of the Circle G" statue project proposal
· visit potential sites in Horn Lake for the statue project
· represent the CGF at the DeSoto County Day/Tourist Appreciation Day event May 8 for National Travel and Tourism Week
· survey Elvis sites and related heritage tourism efforts in Memphis and Tupelo and explore future partnership possibilities
Sheryl has been working remotely as the CGF's volunteer historic preservation consultant since graduating from the MA Historic Preservation program at SCAD in August 2012. This will be her first opportunity to visit the ranch and to meet in person with other foundation members as well as the Horn Lake and heritage tourism communities.
The CGF's vision is to save and rehabilitate the Circle G as a tourism destination and recreational facility with usage that reflects Elvis' charitable and humanitarian legacy.
