Please join us in funding the renovation of the steps to this historical building – the Concord Scout House. For years these steps have supported many on their way to making memories in the Scout House during events and celebrations:
- Girl/Boy Scout Meetings and Events
- Contra Dances
- Weddings
- Concerts
- Barn Children Special Events
- Fifth Grade Ballroom Dances
- Birthday Parties
- Recitals
- Memorial Services
- Concord Family Network Events
- Justice Department Juvenile Rehabilitation
- Performances
- Aerobics Classes
- Mitzvah Celebrations
- And Even .... Thanksgiving Dinners
The New England weather has finally taken its toll on our steps. While rentals and tenants pay for most of the expenses of this historical building, at times costs arise that cannot be covered by the existing budget.
HELP US REACH OUR GOAL
The estimate of the work to be done to ensure safety and prevent further deterioration of the steps exceeds $10,000. Join us in raising the funds for this historical endeavor.
1. Rebuild the field stone stair risers to close the open joints.
2. Replace the broken top blue stone step.
3. Reset the bluestone landing.
4. Re-point cellarway wall to reduce water infiltration to prevent further deterioration of lower level stairs.
5. Re-point stone features on either side of stairs.
6. Rework railings to eliminate the outward bottom sweeps and to ensure safety.
Let’s Step it up for the Scout House!
