SAFE Fun Day 5000 Challenge
The Covid-19 outbreak put a grinding halt on all of our 2020 fundraising events, including our biggest yearly event, the SAFE Summer Fun Day. This event normally brings in about £5000 which is a huge chunk of our funds, so as you can imagine, we really need to find a way of raising this money so we can keep the charity running and continue rescuing ponies in need!
Introducing the SAFE Fun Day 5000 Challenge! The target is to raise £5000 through individual sponsorship challenges across February with the theme being 5000. We're asking our lovely supporters to take on a challenge of their choice, e.g. a sponsored 5000 staircase steps, sponsored 5k walk/run, sponsored learn 50 words of a new language, it can be anything you like! You can do your challenge as an individual or as a family or even with your furry companion. The only rule is it has be safe and within covid guidelines.
We've made it easy for our supporters to take part in this challenge by creating this fundraising page to share with friends, family and on social media. The funds automatically get paid to us after a person donates so you don't need to worry about keeping track and transferring funds!
Here's all you need to do in 3 simple steps:
Step 1 - Choose your challenge
We've based this fundraiser on the 5000 theme but it can basically be anything across a day, week or month in February!
A few example ideas are to do 5000 steps, walk 50km, learn to say hello in 15 new languages or to run 5k. If there isn't a 5 theme then please don't worry though!
Step 2 - Promote it!!
Tell the world about your fundraiser challenge, but in particular your friends and family. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are great ways to promote, but often word of mouth is more effective, and don't forget the people you work with! Feel free to ask people to also do their own challenge for us or to join yours. The more the merrier!!
Please remember to ask any Sponsors who are UK tax payers to check the gift aid box! As a small charity, every penny helps and gift aid will make a huge difference to us!
Step 3 - Do your challenge and tell us about it!

SAFE - Saving Abandoned Fly-Grazing Equines: SAFE is run by a small dedicated group of volunteers who tirelessly help abandoned horses in need. We offer support to land owners, including local authorities as well as private individuals. If we have the room and budget available, we will rescue horses and rehabilitate and re-home them. This takes a huge amount of funding, our vet bills being our highest expense. We do not use any donations on overheads and every penny is used directly on the horses in our care.
