KELLY MARTIN’S FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER
We’re reaching out to family, friends and all compassionate people out there to help a beautiful spirit fight against one of life’s most difficult challenges – BREAST CANCER. One of the best hockey players we’ve ever known was recently diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) and she is ready to overcome it head-on.
Kelly is a strong, beautiful woman who just turned 30. She made her way from a young age with hard work, determination, and an infectious laugh. We’ve known her since her teens when she walked into our hockey locker room - she was too young to play in the MSWHL (Michigan Senior Women's Hockey League) but that didn’t discourage her from showing up and getting on the ice. Her determination, confidence and easy personality set her apart from all other girls her age, and she’s been with us ever since. We are here for her in her time of need!
Our goal is to help alleviate some of the stress during this difficult time by raising funds to assist with medical bills, hormone therapy, fertility treatments, medications, surgeries, and of course everyday living expenses since she won’t be able to work during her fight against breast cancer.
We all know medical expenses are substantial – add to the mix Kelly’s desire to have a family in the near future and the financial amount becomes even greater (first trying to preserve her fertility for future children before even beginning cancer treatment). So, anything we can do to help put a dent in her financial pressures is our focus.
Kelly is used to being the last line of defense in the game, she’s a very strong woman but now needs a team behind HER.
