Terminal illnesses ,such as cancer, kills thousands of people in Nigeria daily. In majority of the cases, illiteracy and poverty means these people die in pain. The CPCN (Centre for Palliative Care Nigeria) hospice has been setup to give comfort, support and educate some of these people that would otherwise end up in this desperate and helpless situation.
For these same poverty and illiteracy reasons, thousands of children are abandoned because of abnormality.
For those of you who know, Jide ( our brother ) - he attended a School for the Handicap for over 10 years where he gained independence, made lots of friends and learnt at a pace tailored for him. Home School for the Handicapped provides support to these otherwise neglected members of our community.
For our mums 70th birthday, all she wants is donations to these 2 charities she is passionate about and has been heavily involved in.
We'd like you to join us in raising funds and awareness of these 2 charities.
Please forward on to as many people to donate whatever amount. We'll present all funds raised to both charities on mums birthday in June and decommission this fund raising site so please please please donate before 1st of June 2015.Also please do not share the fundraising effort with her as we want that aspect to be a suprise.
A few of us would be participating in a charity walk(drop an email if you want to join).
We'll record a short video capturing a couple of minutes before the walk, a minute or two during the walk and right at the end. We'll post online so watch the space!
