Old Gregg School Playground

Remember your childhood memories of summer days chasing friends around a playground? Maybe you remember the day you overcame your fear of the slide or the first time you could make it across the monkey bars. A playground is an important part of a child's development and we need your help to give the children in our community the opportunity to one day look back and remember summertimes gone by at the playground!

The Old Gregg School Playground was build in 1996 when it was the Spring Mills Elementary School. Through the years, the current equipment has endured harsh winters and busy summers. With wooden posts beginning to rot, slides having been removed due to cracking, and cables loosening, the Gregg Township Supervisors and the Old Gregg School Advisory Board have decided to look toward replacing the equipment.

One of the biggest set backs to the current structure, is that it is not A.D.A accessible and therefore we would like to put in a structure that can be enjoyed by everyone.

The Playground Committee has been awarded a grant through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for $40,000. In order to recieve the full amount, we will need to raise a matching $20,000. These funds will enable us to purchase new playground equipment that will be safe and accessible for everyone.The playground is an important resource to the Penns Valley Community for this generation and many generations to come.
