Help Save Our Home

We need your help to save our home for our humans!  They've done so much for us, and worked so hard, we want to repay them for everything they've done.  Let me tell you our story.

My name is Lulu.  I'm the oldest, and only girl, in our little pride.  Our humans took me in when I was just a little kitten.  They had already been well trained by my older brother, who crossed the rainbow about a year after I came to live in the house.

This is my younger brother, Imp.  He certainly has days where he lives up to his name, but he is a real hero.  He came to live with us a little while after my big brother crossed the rainbow.  Our human mommy was super sad and kept crying a lot, so our human dad took her to a shelter, where they found Imp.

Even though Imp and I tried our best to cheer her up, our human mommy was sad pretty often.  She would sometimes tell us that it would be better if she wasn't around anymore, and one night she took a lot of pills.  That's how Imp became a hero.  We knew something was wrong and we stayed close to her, Imp even slept on her pillow.  Several times that night our human mommy stopped breathing.  I was scared, but Imp knew what to do to make her breathe again.  He would use his paw to pat her face, and his tongue to lick her face until she woke up and started breathing again.

Our human mommy was gone for a while after that night, and when she came back she stayed home with us all the time.  She tried to go back to work a couple of different times, but it made her sick again, so she stays home with us now.

I've heard our humans talk about how she is sick, and that she is trying to get on disability, but it sure seems to take a long time.

This is my baby brother, Teddy.  He lived outside until our human mommy brought him home when he was just a little kitten.  He's a pest sometimes, especially when he wants to play, but he's a good snuggler, too, so that makes up for the peskiness.

I told you about my brothers and I, and how we came to live with our humans, so you can know what caring people they are.  Because right now they are in trouble.

About a year ago, we moved to a new house in a new city.  Our human daddy started looking for work, making sure to include all the information about being a firefighter in the Air Force during something called the Gulf War.  Even though he is a hard worker, he had a difficult time finding a job.  He worked temp jobs in the summer, unloading cargo containers.  He would come home almost shaking in exhaustion, and his clothes would have rings of salt from where the sweat dried.

Even though he worked hard, and was continuously looking for a better job, our humans were getting behind on their bills.  Our human mommy started a business that she could do from home, but it is still growing, so she can't contribute much to the bills.  She tries, though.

Finally, our human daddy found a permanent job.  It was hard work, though, and didn't pay very well.  Then he was home for almost a whole month, and we cats didn't really know why.  It was something called a lay-off.  That month was very difficult.  Our human daddy applied for unemployment benefits, but because of a glitch in the system, he didn't get paid anything until the week he was supposed to go back to work.

A little over a month ago, he came home very happy because a new company wanted to hire him, and pay him more money.  He started working for them, but our humans were really far behind on bills, especially the rent for our home.

That is why we are asking you to help us.  I've heard both of them on the phone with friends and relatives, to see if anyone can help them get caught up on the rent, but everyone else is having problems, too.

So, now we are on the verge of being told to leave our home, and because they are trying to get caught up on the bills, they wouldn't find another place to live very easily.   This is where you come into the picture.

My brothers and I have figured out that if 250 people would donate just $20 each, our humans would be all caught up and we wouldn't have to leave our home.  The sooner we can get the money, the better our humans will be.  Our human mommy has been so upset about the situation she has ended up in the emergency room thinking she was having a heart attack.

Can you help us by donating $20 today?  My brothers and I would be so happy to be able to give the money to our human parents.  It would make us feel like we were giving them a home, just like they did for us.

Thank you from,
Lulu, Imp, and Teddy
