With your support for a NEW HORIZONS 2021-2022 season, we hope present the following and the other concerts planned for this season:
The Niles Metropolitan Chorus' Vision: Due to pandemic NMC has had to adopt a New Horizons for the New Normal. We need your support to continue to serve audiences in the Near NW suburbs of: Niles, Skokie, Morton Grove, Glenview, Park Ridge, Des Plaines, while advancing the art of music in these troubled times.
Founder and Artistic Director Marek Rachelski blends together singers from across the Chicago metropolitan area for exploration of major works and oratorios. The Niles Metropolitan Chorus' (founded in 2013) repertoire ranges from Baroque to Contemporary, looking towards featuring newly composed music. Accompanied by the Musica Lumina Orchestra (founded in 1999) comprised of the area's top instrumentalists, these two ensembles provide an artistic outlet for all ages to enjoy.
In these New Normal time, the chorus of 45+ members, are hoping that by pledging your support we will be able to safely and successfully produce a NEW HORIZONS 2021-22 Season.
Your generosity allows us to present artists and musicians in beautiful artistic settings for all to safely enjoy music that expressesthe joy of life, and pose questions worth pondering.
By contributing any amount, our Artistic Director, Marek Rachelski, our chorus members, orchestra, and audience will thank you for helping them learn, grow, and being able to enjoy choral and instrumental music presented live once again.
NMC Background:
Building upon what came before us, the Niles Metropolitan Chorus and Musica Lumina Orchestra's honors the Niles Concert Choir and Niles Symphony Orchestra (Active for 32 years, 1964-1996). It is our honor to be able to build upon the legacy of Fr. Stanley Rudcki, while advancing the art of music in today's society.
Since our founding in 2013, , NMC has accomplished many milestones: Performing at Orchestra Hall, Collaborating with the Chicago Bar Association Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the DePaul Community Chorus. NMC has proudly showcased works from Beethoven, Bruckner, Gounod, Mendelssohn, Rutter, Requiems of Cherubini, Mozart, Faure, Haydn's Creation, a yearly Handel's Messiah, and both the Passions of St. John and St. Matthew of J.S. Bach.
NMC is an Independent Sustainable Community Chorus serving audiences within a 20 miles radius of Niles, IL and is Incorporated in the State of Illinois as a non-profit. NMC has been granted 501c3 status by the IRS.
