WKC TEAM USA World Championships

My name is Elijah Ray Priego and I am an 12-year-old, competitive, karate student at Alchemy Karate Academy.  I am pleased to share that this year, I have earned the opportunity to compete at the 2019 World Karate & Kickboxing Commission (WKC) Championships as a member of TEAM USA!

 WKC World Championships are annual martial arts competitions where competitors from all over the world.  My martial arts disciplines include, speed fighting (point and continuous sparring), and creative and traditional Japanese kata (forms). To be eligible to attend the world championships, competitors must be selected to represent their country by competing and placing at sanctioned regional competitions and National Championships. As a top 2 competitor at the sanctioned WKC USA Regional & National Qualifier events, I have solidified my membership on the 2019 WKC TEAM USA and will now compete  at the WKC World Championships as a WKC TEAM USA member in Niagara Falls, New York  November 2-8.

This event is the culmination of years as a sport karate member, immense hours of practice, attendance of hundreds of competitions to date, and thousands of dollars invested in my dream of becoming a TEAM USA member. Competing in karate competitions is a very expensive endeavor. Not only are there costly competition entry fees, but all other fees associated with the event as well, such as travel costs, room, board, uniforms, and fight gear. My parents, whose noble occupations are in education and law enforcement do everything that they can to make my dreams come true. 

I am currently seeking financial sponsors to help me with my competition costs, and I hope that I can count on your support.
