Michael's battle With ALS

Michael Murray's family and friends are uniting to help raise money to help with his battle against ALS! Please show your support!

Michael was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease in January of 2013 and has recently quit work and gone on disability. ALS is a terminal neuromuscular disease with no known cure. It affects voluntary muscles, eventually leading to muscle weakening and wasting, twitching, and an inability to move the arms, legs, and body. Over the past few months Michael's symptoms have significantly worsened and have been affecting his daily lifestyle; he has limited ability to move his arms and legs and  uses a wheelchair.

Michael and his family need to make their bathroom ADA accessible.  They also have an immediate need for a handicapped accessible van so Michael can venture out of the house.

Michael, 43, lives in Virginia with his wife of 9 years, Dena; his son Matthew, 8; and his daughter Madison, 5.  His hobbies include: weather, astronomy, computers, sports trading cards, stocks, being a HUGE Terps/Redskins fan and an active involvement in his kids' lives. He attended the University of MD at College Park, and is a member of the Delta Chi fraternity.
