September 15th 2019 my father Walt Kaplin passed away at the age of 83 years.
Walt had been ill for the last year suffering from various illnesses and died of natural causes. He was a loving husband to my mother Joanie Kaplin and great provider for his family.
My father was a graduate of the infamous "Stadium High School" in Tacoma WA. He was the man of the hour when it came to music, "Walt the JD". My Dad's love for cars drew him to several local car clubs throughout the Northwest.
My parents were amazing roll models with 54 years of marriage.
My name is Sheri Sweeney, I am the daughter of Walt Kaplin and Joanie Kaplin (1939-2015) the executor of his estate.
After just moving home and getting settled in Duvall, tragedy struck and my father passed suddenly. Unfortunately his estate was minimal and without life insurance or savings. I am raising money through gofundme for the purpose of honoring my father with a celebration of life.
In honor of our father, Marty my brother and I will be having a celebration of life December 12, 2019 at Griot's Garage 3333 S. 38th st Tacoma, WA from 12-2PM. We are still in the preparation stages and hoping to raise funds by November 15, 2019.
