Want to join us in making a difference?

Help Hazel Green 4-H Clever Clovers  by being a sponsor in our #MayMilkChallenge. Our goal is to donate over 100 gallons of milk each week to local school districts and food pantries.  A donation of any amount will help make an impact.

The Story:

This idea originated from Cuba City high school student and FFA member, Austin Ingersoll. “Living on a farm I know the hard work and struggles of a family dairy farm, and I want to support the industry.” His idea was that FFA should donate one gallon of milk to every family that is receiving the breakfast and lunch program in the school district during the COVID-19 crisis. Austin took the initiative to contact his FFA leader and got the project off the ground.

Why stop there? Hazel Green 4-H Clever Clovers co-leader, Laurie Runde was so impressed with Austin's great idea that she reached out to him and asked if the club, that he has been a part of since he was in the 3rd grade, could help out. "I felt that this project truly exemplifies what being a 4-H member is; service to the community especially during this challenging time. I love this project because even though our club isn’t able to gather, we are still engaging with each other while helping our community and that’s what 4-H is about." Laurie’s son Ray, a 4-H member and high school student from Southwestern contacted his school to suggest the idea. “I have been friends with Austin for a long time and when I heard his idea, I wanted to do whatever I could to help him and get this project rolling. With donating this milk I hope to get more people to support the dairy industry through these rough times.”

And #MayMilkChallenge was born! Please help us support our local farmers and our community.  We #Dairy YOU!

Post photos of your kids or grandkids on the farm. Not on a farm? Show us how you use dairy on a daily basis!

Examples:
a selfie of you and your cows, you drinking milk straight out of the carton, making pizza with lots of mozzarella, eating ice cream… be creative! The possibilities are endless!

Along with the photo, post a fun fact about dairy.

Examples:
Did you know? It takes x amount of milk to make a pound of mozzarella.
Did you know? The average cow produces x amount of milk in one month!
