Tim Johnson's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On the evening of February 3, Tim collapsed in the lobby of his hotel in Philadelphia after exercising in the gym. It was later determined that he had suffered a massive heart attack. Fortunately, a member of the hotel staff and a guest who happened to be in the lobby at the time knew CPR. They were able to administer it until the medics arrived. The doctors at Paoli Hospital later indicated that those immediate actions saved Tim’s life.
After the medics arrived Tim was airlifted to Paoli Hospital where he was placed into a medically induced, hypothermic coma in the ICU. On Thursday, as they were warming his body to bring him out of the coma, to everyone’s relief, he gradually woke up. After performing a heart catheterization on Friday, they identified three major and one minor blockage in his coronary arteries. Tim is scheduled for open-heart surgery on Monday, February 9th.
Hospital personnel have referred to him as “the man who shouldn't be here” and “miracle man”. Reportedly, 95% of people who “arrest” outside of a hospital do not survive.
The Johnson family is thankful to God for sparing Tim's life, and they are thankful for the hotel staff and the guest who were willing to intervene to help a stranger in need. They are also thankful for all of the prayers and encouragement from so many of you.
Many of you have asked how you can help, so we are establishing this fund to help pay their medical expenses. The Johnsons are humbled by your love and willingness to help. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a donation.
We will continue to praise the Lord for His grace and mercy. We know that He is in control and has a great plan for the Johnson family.
Psalm 46: 1-3 tells us, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling."
