Kalli is currently in recovery from a vulvoplasty/episioplasty and mass removal (pending results) on 2/04/19. She needs continued aftercare and management of bilateral hip dysplasia (pending surgery). For the last year, we have been to specialists/veterinarians/surgeons at least once a month (usually a lot more). We have maxed out our Care credit so any donation truly helps. She is only 20 months old and has had a rough time. She’s CGC certified/task trained, super friendly and a complete lovebug. We’re working on getting her as comfortable as possible.

Since last Spring, we have known something is not right with Kalli. She tested positive for Lyme, has had reoccurring UTIs and general soreness. We got a wellness plan, added in daily supplements and medications, changed to a prescription diet, got antimicrobial wipes/spray/ointment, etc. In November 2018, we got even more bad news from a board certified surgeon in Sturbridge: Kalli has bilateral hip dysplasia and we should consider a FHO as well as a vulvoplasty. As recommended, we started weekly PT, hydrotherapy, laser therapy, & changed up medications and supplements again.
Well, we went to a Tufts orthopedic surgeon 1/08 for a second examination- learning Kalli now is suffering from moderate arthritis and needs a full hip replacement. However, before this can happen we must resolve her urinary issues. She is currently healing from a mass removal and vulvoplasty from 02/04. She’s scheduled for two other appointments at Tufts in the next month.
Kalli is a rescue from Friends of Homeless Animals of RI. We met her at just 5 weeks old and her good natured mother Gracie. She picked me! She was a great addition to our family while our Boston Terrier Frankie was still here, helping to calm his anxiety for awhile. She has put a smile on everyone’s face since day one and has been extremely well socialized (going to dog events regularly). Kalli has gone through advanced training- is GCG certified and task trained. She is super smart, well trained and has a great temperament. We have been doing everything we can for her & are becoming drained mentally and financially. It’s sad to see a dog decline so fast..but especially a young one that has been so well cared for.
Kalli has gone from an active, happy go lucky pup to one whining in constant pain. She’s breaking our heart. We just want her to be more comfortable to live out her remaining years. At this time, we’re asking for help from as Kalli’s health journey continues. This has been hard for us to do but we are realizing support comes in many forms.
