​       Let us introduce JoAnn Dougherty Sullivan, a beautiful 37-year old woman who was recently diagnosed with heart failure as the result of a disease that attacked her heart. JoAnn grew up in Philadelphia, attended St. Timothy Grade School, St. Hubert’s High School and earned her degree from Cabrini College. JoAnn went on to teach high school and coach soccer at Cardinal O’Hara until she met and married her husband, Jason Sullivan, a career serviceman who spent a tour in Afghanistan as well as one Iraq in the United States Army. JoAnn and Jason then moved from the Philadelphia area, first to Texas and then to Georgia. Over the past few years, JoAnn was suffering from various unexplained ailments until she was recently diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in the Heart. JoAnn is undergoing many medical procedures and aggressive treatments through the University of Pennsylvania to fight the disease and is now on the waiting list for a heart transplant. Unfortunately, this has resulted in JoAnn having to move away from her husband who is stationed in Georgia to return to Philadelphia for treatment. While finances should be the least of their troubles, the reality is quite different. This is putting a huge financial strain on them because they have been reduced to one income and maintaining living expenses in separate locations, including Jason’s commuting to and from Philadelphia and Georgia. Any financial support that you can give JoAnn through this difficult time in her life would be most appreciated.
