Eagle Project: Church Ramp
(This is Mel, Jim's big Brother. I helped Jim build this page so he can raise the much needed funds for his Eagle Scout Project. Would you please help him make this happen?)
JIM's ESP Details: The church building I attend with my parents has an enterance to the cultural hall that makes getting to this part of the building impossible, for some, for week night activities, meetings, and events. This leaves many of our elderly and disabled congregation out of these important family activities.
I NEED your help. I have spent many months designing and planning a ramp that can be fitted over the stairs to allow wheel-chair access.
My plans have been reviewed by the appropriate church building coordinator and Stake President and have been approved. They have also been reviewed by local contractors (who will be assisting us), along with the Building Inspector. Approval from the Building Inspector is expected in the next week or so.
I have developed a complete budget.
A local construction company (NelCo ) has signed on as the General Contractor. They will be donating their construction expertise, the gravel, tools, supervision, and trucks to make this happen. Volunteers will do the work.
The Church has agreed to cover the cost of replacing the door so it opens for easy access by the ramp. They are also handling the cost for the steel and concrete. The Church is covering a total of: $7958.14.
Cornaby Railing will be doing $1300 worth of professional powder-coating for $200.
-------------------
HOWEVER, the handrail, building permit, signage, warning mat, lumber, contingency fund (required by the Church) and other items are left to me to raise.
I MUST RAISE: $4260.53
Without these funds I wont be able to complete this project.
