Jerry & Linda need new well, pump, & water heater

Donation protected

There comes a time in everyone's lives when something happens that is not             expected or planned for.  Jerry and I have had many of these moments, and we     have found creative ways to over come or wiggle around them.  This time we are  faced with that proverbial rock and a hard place situation.

About 2 weeks ago, we were living just fine through this winter, when one night I, Linda, was doing dishes and the water just quit flowing out of the faucet!  Turns     out, our old 2 inch well of 65 years has died.  The well pump was pumping sand!   You can imagine what no running water in the cold of winter means.
Thank goodness we are blessed with a beautiful flowing creek.  Jerry and our son, Aaron, began the task of hauling up water in 5 gallon buckets on a sled, so we          could flush our toilet.  The ice, each day, on the creek thickened with the single      digit cold nights.  But they have pounded through it and gathered the needed        water each day.  As a friend playfully asked, 'Does it feel like we are living out the Laura Ingalls Wilder book, 'The Little House on the Prairie'?  Oh yes, in so many
ways!

We also are blessed by friends who have offered their potable water for cooking  and drinking... bless their beautiful, gracious hearts.

Jerry has called several well contractors and received only a couple of bids to         date, with a couple of bids still pending when the contractors get the time.  So far it looks like the well will cost in the range of $12,000, that does not include the      hot water heater, which was compromised by the sand coming in.

We sent in our well permit application and the $255 fee.  Inspectors have come    and measured for distance from well to septic and the drain field.  We have not        received the permit yet, but the inspectors said all looked in good order.

So here we are, in our 70's, on Social Security with a little art shop and studio,        SACRED SPARKS, where we make and sell our creations,  with Covid-19 keeping us closed since February of 2020.  We are so well aware of how many good              people have stressed and suffered.  These are some interesting times for sure.

We have received some loving donations from some precious friends, but the          sum we will need to get water flowing again, is a steep financial hill to climb.

I find setting up this GoFundMe page difficult.  We've always found ways to get       around financial problems, but this is a key infrastructure issue.  Water is so very precious.  After these couple of weeks, we have come to value good water more    than ever, and are now keenly aware of how much we use in a day.  It's a lot!          We've always valued it on a global scale too and stood up for the rights of others    for the access of water and protested companies who didn't.

We can't tell you in words how much your generosity and help will mean to us.
We are so blessed to have such good caring friends in our life.  THANK YOU!

THANK YOU so much for what ever small gift you can contribute to our cause       and need.
Having flowing water coming out of our faucets that is warm, washing our hands, our bodies, our laundry will mean so much more to us, right now it's like a dream.  We will never take having access to flowing water for granted ever!

What moves you in helping us now, we will, one day, pay it forward to someone    else in need.
Peaceful Blessings of Gratitude to you,
 Jerry and Linda and Aaron
