ILM Sit-In 2020

The ILM Sit-In is an event that myself and Diamond Bentley have organized so that all individuals, especially young children and adults can become more aware about the racial injustices in our community as well as the world, while also bringing awareness to the history of the park.

We will have guest speakers whom will discuss several topics (voter registrations, mental health, history of Wilmington) and organizations present that individual can join that support economic, social, and politics change for all.

This Sit in is a form of a protest for people to come together and occupy the space to bring awareness. We are encouraging individuals to bring blankets to sit on in the grassy areas of where we will be located (Shelter 6 at Hugh MacRae Park). We will be serving water and snacks under the shelter.

We are asking that people make donations to this event so we are able to provide water, food,  and hand sanitizers. Remaining proceeds with go to the local NAACP chapter as well as organizations that give back to our community.
