220 N.Union Street Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
In the afternoon of Wednesday November 19th, there was a massive kitchen fire at 220 N. Union Street in Kennett Square.  While everyone (and all pets) are fine, this historic home was almost completely destroyed. This was the home of Jessica Mazzoli, Sean Maney, Carl Taggart and Mark Cole, who lost not only their home but almost all of their possessions, including valuable original paintings, family heirlooms, photos and clothing.

Many of you have already been incredibly helpful, and we have been incredibly moved by your generosity.  We are trying to raise $40,000 ($10,000 for each tenant) to help with transition costs and to help the tenants start to rebuild their lives.  Two of the four tenants are uninsured, and these funds will go toward clothing, first month's rent/security deposit, gas and food. Each and every dollar is useful and will make this difficult transition easier.  We thank you all deeply and send our love.

Paws and Claws Pet Store in Kennett Square is offering a discount to anyone who can buy supplies for Booker, our displaced dog.  (He's a 24 pound Boston Terrier who lost all his bones, frisbees and toys, and east Science Diet Lite Adult Food.)

Thank you also to Sovana Bistro for providing food to the displaced tenants in the direct aftermath of the fire.
