Help Sarah get to the Challenger series

I’ve set up this GoFundMe for Sarah (Baumy) to help out with some of the costs for her for the next section of the WSL qualifying series. I have also attached a little video that a lovely friend has put together for us to share Baumy’s story! (6 min watch) (https://vimeo.com/578255819)

A little background with the new format for the WSL, surfers must compete in their respected regions events to accumulate enough points to qualify for the the Challenger Series (CS). Sarah was not able to compete for her region, South Africa, due to being unable to return home as a result of Covid-19. Prior to Covid kicking off in 2020 Sarah was on an absolute roll with her events and on her way to qualify for the Championship Tour (CT). However, in 2021 she is now able to use those points accumulated in 2020 in order to compete in the CS which is the last stepping stone to reaching the CT.

The CS events are set for September through to December in USA, France, Portugal and Hawaii. Given the current circumstances of Covid-19 it has made the prices of travel even more expensive! Not to mention the price of hotel quarantine for when she comes back (3K). I’d like to highlight, given the current environment there will be no shopping sprees with any donated funds, strictly business and used to help Baumy chase her dream! No extra coffees ;)

Being an elite athlete is hard, especially one that has no major sponsor to help fund the sport they love. The continual balancing act of working to get enough money but also trying to fit in full time training without major sponsors is almost near impossible.
