Help Lenny Enjoy Life Fund ❤️

Donation protected

Last Sunday my little brother Lenny went into critical care. He is currently in a drug induced coma, He is 17 years old. Lenny was born with a very rare case of Noonan syndrome, he couldn’t walk until the age of 4. Age 6 he had keyhole heart surgery. Yesterday (March 1st) he was diagnosed with a rare variant of MS called Marburg. The doctor said he has only come across three cases of this variant in the world! On Monday (March 4th) if he is strong enough, he will undergo Chemotherapy. He really has been through a lot!

I have decided to go on a sponsored 177 mile walk along Offa’s Dyke trail from Chepstow to Prestatyn to raise money for Lenny to go on holiday when he wakes up and pay for any care he may need after leaving hospital. We would also love to get him through his rope access course, buy him a chainsaw, motorbike, whatever he likes we want to be able to provide to him. This money should set him up in life for a while. We would also like to donate some of the money to Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital, for Lenny’s care, and they have also helped Lenny's mother in finding accommodation next to the hospital which is amazing.

Lenny has never left the UK and dreams of going to Ireland, this is something he mentions a lot. he also wants to go to Germany to drive around the Nurburgring and to Spain to The Oasys MiniHollywood Movie Set (John Wayne Land) these are just a few places I can think of off the top of my head but ultimately, when he wakes up it will be his choice to go wherever he wants.

We want to be able to give him this opportunity to fulfil his dreams, with your help this would be possible.

During the walk to Prestatyn, my self and some friends will be regularly updating our progress with the hashtags #helplennyfund & #walkforlenny on my instagram account - Smellingtonpiffofficial

I plan to set off from Chepstow on April 1st which is Lenny's 18th Birthday, this should give me enough time to get everything ready, and train, as I barely leave the sofa!

Please sponsor the walk by donating!

Myself and the whole family would like to thank you in advance for helping us provide these amazing experiences for Lenny.

               ———   UPDATE    ———

Since being admitted to Birmingham hospital, Lenny has undergone chemotherapy, plasma treatments and blood transfusions. He is now fighting sepsis but the antibiotics are taking effect, doctors are going to try to wake him up this week

          ——— UPDATED UPDATE ———

HES AWAKE!!! Doctors are absolutely amazed by his progress!!! What a soldier!!!
He’s very responsive. Looking poorly from the chemo but he’s putting weight on slowly.  His left side is working but at the moment his right side is unresponsive. With everything he’s been through I have faith he’s gunna sort that out. He’s starting to breath for him self which is amazing. It’s going to take a lot of rehabilitation to get him back on his feet. This money is going to help him so much. Thank you…

He was given a 3% chance at one point so to come this far is a miracle

COME ON LENNY!!!

Continued…

He’s breathing for himself, he’s eating, his right side which was paralysed is now coming back to him, he’s gaining weight. He should be getting moved to Hereford hospital soon to continue his rehabilitation. Its not the best situation as he needs to go into a level 1 complex rehabilitation centre. We don't know how long he will have to wait for one. Its unclear whether they even have one in wales. So he could be moved anywhere. Lenny’s mother who is also his carer needs to be with him due to his current condition.  She will need to be temporarily housed during this time wherever he goes. Also he may not be able to live at home for some time due to possible adaptions needing to be made. This all comes as additional cost to his mum who is on a very low income due to being on carers allowance.

Thank you so much to everyone donating!!
 Big love.

… Lenny’s making so much progress! The right side is coming back to him! We’ve got him an electric chair, last couple days he’s been getting about a bit. All tubes out, starting to get his appetite back, he’s just as sharp as he ever was! Long way to go, but so many positives. He’s currently negotiating a chainsaw, he’s going to get his CBT and a new bike. X

                   —— Walk Update ——

We’re on day three, 2 hours away from Pandy. It’s been very wet! Also been very beautiful. Currently drying out the tents at White Castle. Thanks to everyone donating.

                 —— Day 7 of the walk ——

We’re in Knighton! Almost half way! We camped on black mountain in the storm couple nights back! Not the best idea lol. We’ve seen wild pony’s and horses, monkey trees, all sorts of lush scenery it’s been amazing. Thank you to Ty Grug pods for putting us up. Thank you to the George and Dragon in Knighton for putting us up. The storms making it hard to wild camp now so to have some accommodation is great and much needed. Thank you.
