KYRECE'S LEGACY 6th Anniversary Fundraiser
Marlow Life Facebook group with local businessman Dave 'The Disco' Pering are working together to support the Kyrece's Legacy charity.
On 22nd July 2014, a Marlow teenager, Kyrece Francis and his friends were enjoying a hot summers day down by the River Thames. Some of the group decided to swim out to a central island and Kyrece got into difficulties and tragically died.
He was just a teenager enjoying life.
As a result of his passing, Kyrece's Legacy was formed. Fundraising meant that 28 life saving devices could be sited along the River Thames. Sadly for whatever reason, some individuals have felt it acceptable to remove some of the devices. Previously they have been located but from the most recent incident they are still missing.
The devices were put in place to try to ensure that facilities were available if anyone was in need of help in the water. So that no one else's family have to go through the heartbreak and loss of a loved one. The thoughtless removal of these devices are putting lives at risk.
As Kyrece's Legacy is a registered charity, they rely on fundraising. It is the 6th anniversary of Kyreces death on 22nd July and we would like to help support the charity. All monies raised will go to the charity to help replace any missing devices now & in the future. Each device currently costs £90 inc VAT.
Kyrece died on the 22nd July.
22 days before his birthday .
His football Jersey was #22.
We thought it fitting to run this fundraiser for 22 days and will announce the total raised on 13th August which would have been his 20th birthday.
This is a Marlow based charity, in place because a young boy lost his life. Please help us to support Kyrece's Legacy and help save lives in our community.
