These funds will be used to help Frank and Barb pay for medical expenses.
Frank began feeling sick on Thursday January 7th. Headache, low grade fever, cough.. As the days progressed symptoms pointed towards covid. Sunday he lost his sense of taste and smell.
Monday January 11th. Frank was developing a hacking cough and diarrhea. We went to urgent care where he was officially diagnosed with covid and sent home with over the counter cough medicine. We made a telehealth appointment with our doctor for Wednesday.
Tuesday Frank continued to decline and we opted to go to the ER. I had been monitoring his oxygen saturation, heart rate and temperature, which were ok, but not perfect. Walking a few 100 feet into the ER his O2 dropped to 77%.
He was admitted and started on the covid protocol.
As the days passed, he actually declined. Sunday, January 17th he called me and said they were going to try him on a bipap. The next step would be intubation and a vent. He failed immediately on the bipap, was intubated, and transferred to ICU in Prescott.
It has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. He was set to be extubated on Friday but his right lung is so full of pneumonia that he cannot keep his sats up.
