Give a Dollar Save a Dog K9 PTSD CENTER

Tax deductible
This is very difficult for me, asking for help. I am James Lamonte, the founder and director of the K9 PTSD CENTER, whose mission is to home and heal K9s that have protected and served. I started with just one K9, but the need only continues to grow.

I started with a house that I built on my personal property—you can Google it at 188 Cross Street, Seekonk, MA 02772. (It’s the building in the back.) But more and more dogs kept being surrendered to the center. Now, most of them are scheduled to be put down because they cannot be rehomed due to aggression issues. But this can be changed! The PTSD CENTER needs more space immediately so they can be rehabilitated.

It is no overstatement to say that I have dedicated my life, including my graduate work, to healing these amazing animals who suffer due to the vital work they performed for our military and law enforcement. When I started out, I believed that PTSD was only going to apply to a few dogs; however, I was very wrong. Within a year, I reached the maximum my facility can hold, which is 10 dogs. Yet, there are so many more currently waiting in the overflow area at my local animal control office. If I can get a bigger place, very soon, I can save them. We can save them.

The K9 PTSD CENTER has the opportunity to purchase a larger place that will be able to house and care for 1,000 dogs! I know this is a very difficult time for many of us, and money may be tight. I personally have spent all of my funds to care for the dogs at the existing center and cannot afford to purchase this larger space without help. The location is 591 Dillion Lane, Swansea, MA—you can Google that as well. (It used to be a Girl Scout camp.) With this property, we would be able to build plenty of kennels to house many more of these dogs. There would also be a lot of room for them to run and play and live out their best lives. Another bonus is that there is a pool that can be used for their rehabilitation. It’s the perfect place for dogs with PTSD.

The K9 PTSD Center is a nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. Again, I know times are tough, so if you cannot help financially, the dogs and I would appreciate it if you would share this post with as many people as you can. Every day, K9s and other dogs are put down because they are misdiagnosed. The K9 PTSD CENTER and the research we are doing can prevent thousands of dogs from being put down—they are not “bad” dogs; they are hurt dogs, and they need the patience, compassion, and time that we can provide to heal.

Thank you so much for caring about them and making a critical donation today. To me, nothing is more important than saving as many dogs as we can.

Also, if you make a donation during this campaign, your name will appear in the credits of a movie coming out this fall about one of our dogs. Watch the trailer now! Just click on the link below:
