With Jody and I doing all the building ourselves this has definitely made things even harder but I'm working through all the pregnancy issues and really striving to open ASAP before her arrival, and we could really use a little more support. Thank you all so much !!
Hey! My name is Madeline Akers and I live in Floyd county VA . My husband and I and our 5 kids have been working for years to build our dream of being business owners on our 12 acre farm. We have watched the lower income in our community struggle to put good quality food on their tables and we decided we wanted to build a USDA certified meat processing plant to provide healthy, happy and fresh meat to our community along with our raw milk shares and raw milk products ( yogurt , cheeses , half n half etc.. ) hopefully in the near future. Since we own the land we are building on and will be running this ourselves we have a very low over head and will be able to pass along those savings to the community so they can afford to eat healthy and properly like everyone SHOULD be able to. We have saved and saved but unfortunately this coronavirus has taken a big chunk of our savings and we will be devastated if we don't find a way to get this dream of ours turned into a REALITY! Please, from the bottom of my heart if you can afford to give to us I would be eternally grateful and so would all those people in our rural community who deserve to be putting quality foods into their bodies . Everyone deserves to eat well and feed their children well and we are so excited to have the chance to be able to help those around us and beyond . Thank you❤️
