Estela's Care Fund

UPDATE:  Dear GoFundme Family,

We are sad to say that in November 2015 Cecy lost her battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  As you all know, during Cecy's battle her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer that Metastasized.   Unfortunately Estela's health has declined since Cecy's passing.  She is now battling for her life.  Estela is currently bed ridden and requires 24 hour professional care.  We are asking at this time for your support and prayers for this extraordinary woman who needs are help.

My name is Cecy, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when I was 13. At that time I was in middle school without a worry in the world. My parents had divorced when I was very young and I grew up with my single mother. She provided everything for me.  When I was diagnosed with A.L.L., my mother had to take a long leave of absence from work to care for me.  Soon the money was gone. She had to drive me to the hospital, and tend to my every need. Fortunately, we received some support from family and friends. My mother told me not to worry about anything.I am now 19 years old. In March 2014, while in my first year of college, my Cancer returned more aggressive than before. I had to have a Bone Marrow Transplant in the summer of 2014. I have been in the hospital ever since. My mother spent most days and every night in the hospital beside me, her strength gave me the strength to keep fighting. One night my mother did not come back to sleep with me in the hospital. I later learned she had checked herself into the hospital with lower back pain and lack of mobility. My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, stage 4. The Cancer had metastasized to her spine, putting her completely out of work. My mother was our only source of income. We had no way to pay our rent, medical bills or medicine.  Now her life is at risk and I can't provide for my mom the way she has done for me.
Today we are both fighting the same disease, looking forward to finding the way back to the light and happier days. I want to tell my mom now not to worry.  Any donation will help.  Thank you all for your consideration and prayers.

With Love,

Cecy Laskano
