Please help Smokey

We've been living with my boyfriend's mom's step brother for almost a year. The entire time he's been here there's constantly been problems. He's broken things, hit her, etc. He has mental issues & we've tried getting the police to take him out numerous times but were never successful due to another problem I won't mention. This morning I woke up hearing that Smokey was killed by him. She was laying in a bag unresponsive. Her eye was gauged out & she was bleeding from her mouth. After I started talking to her she started responding & moving a little so we rushed to animal emergency. She has head trauma, lung & spine problems & a missing eye. The hospital bill is out of our price range. I work full time right now but it's still not enough. But this cat means more to David & I than anything & we just want her live & be okay. She's very responsive right now & can move all her limbs so there's some good progress. Right now we don't know what the hospital bill will be or if she will even make it. We're estimating from $2500-$3000. Even if we don't reach our goal we'd like some help & support because this cat didn't deserve this. She's only 10 months old & deserves another chance at life. We just got evicted from our apartment because of this guy & are dealing with a lot of different issues right now. The police finally got him out & we don't know if we'll even have a place to live after this. Anything will help, even a dollar. Smokey is more than just a cat to us. She had so much personality. She loves to play, cuddle, talk & occassionally shows her little sassy attitude when annoyed. Even if she can't be as energetic as before we'll definately make sure we make her life worth living. Since a kitten we've always spoiled her & gave her all of our attention. We want her back in our family so even if you can't donate much please share this so we can get as much help as we can.
