Doing it for Laura- 32 miles for 5 Days

32 people every single day are diagnosed with a brain tumour and their lives are completely changed forever. Starting on Monday the 15th of February I am going to be walking 32 miles everyday for 5 days to raise funds for my cousins charity ‘Doing it for Laura’, as unfortunately, in 2018 she was one of those 32 people per day to find out they have a brain tumour.
In 2018 my amazing cousin Laura was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, which is the most aggressive Stage 4 brain cancer. She had just started studying at Kings College London, when her life was completely turned upside down. She found out she had at least 6 brain tumours and she had to move back home ahead of life saving brain surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and now immunotherapy for which she has to travel to Cologne in Germany on a regular basis to receive.  The prognosis is so poor for this cancer and she was given a maximum of 18 months to live, however, 2 years later she is still amazing us all everyday. Determined not to let this awful disease beat her, She is now studying at the university of Manchester.  She’s also having a good response to the immunotherapy treatment in Cologne which is great news although it does mean that she needs to continue to make those trips out to Germany on a regular basis. This treatment is funded through Laura’s charity ‘Doing it for Laura’ and that is why I am walking all of these miles! The sore feet will be so worth it!
