Ava's Surgery to Walk Fund
Donation protected
Ava Stauffer is a 7 year old twin girl. She was born prematurely weighing in at 2lbs 14 oz. She has overcome many obstacles with the help of her twin sister Erica, her mother and father. She was diagnosed with Cerebal Palsy and underwent Selective Dorsal Rhizotonomy with Dr. Park in St. Louis on March 12th. The Rhizotomy is a spinal surgery to eradicate the spasticity associated with diplegic Cerebral Palsy. Her family fought the insurance company for nearly a year to get her to St. Louis.
Ava is now in need of a second surgery(scheduled with Dr. Park's associate Dr. Dobbs, June 11th) called PERC Lengthening to correct the past 7 years of tightened muscles so that she can stand with her feet flat and be able to walk on her own.
Ava's health insurance has once again denied her benefits to get to the doctor who is trained to help her, and her family does not have the time or resources to take on the insurance company a second time especially with only having a 3 month window of time.
Please help in any way that you can, any amount big or small is greatly appeciated. This little girl is so close to her dream of being able to walk.
