TJ Murphy Legacy Foundation Fund

Our son TJ Murphy, shown in the phote above passed away on  August 31, 2014 at the age of 16.   TJ was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer on December 10, 2012, 2 days before his 15th birthday.  The cancer started in his left shoulder and spread to the right lung  twice.  TJ was a healthy, bright, and active young man.   And to hear this news was devastating.  Especially since the severe shoulder pain was initially thought to be tendonitis from a Baseball or ROTC injury.  Our faith, hope, love, and trust in Jesus Christ carried us through nearly 2 years of treatment and multiple surgeries.  That same faith is helping us heal from the pain of his physical death. Prayers and support of family, friends, and people near and far have also been encouraging.  We plan to hold the 1st Annual TJ Murphy Scholarship  Poker Run in his Loving Memory  Saturday March 28, 2015.  Registration begins 7am at the Lakeland Harley Davidson Motorcycle Shop.  There will be a live band at Mojo's Lakeland to celebrate his memory that afternoon.  Proceeds minus expenses will fund a scholarship to a select graduating senior from Central Florida Aerospace Academy (CFAA) where TJ was a student.  We'll also begin completing requirements for a formal Legacy Foundation in the years to come.   May God bless you all!
