Bo-Bo, Rescue Greyhound with Broken Leg

Hello! My Name is Bo-Bo. I am a retired rescue greyhound. I live with my cousin, Arrow, and my mommy in Fern Park, FL.

I use to run races at greyhound tracks. I did good, but it was awful. In 2007, they didn't need me anymore, and I had no where to live and no one to take care of me. My mommy heard about my problem and took me into her heart and home. She saved my life when things looked darkest.




I live a happy life in my little cottage, with lots of love and laughs. I go for walks, to the dog park, and on special play dates with mommy's friends and their pups. I love making friends! All was good until I was outside in my backyard playing with Arrow, and I played too hard and broke my leg. Yes, I use to be a healthy greyhound like you, but then I took an Arrow to the knee

My mommy rushed me to my vet, but the break was too bad for them to fix. We then had to go to a surgeon, and it was very scary! But they were able to fix my leg! The surgeons are my friends! I love going to see them.



I am out of the doggie hospital and on the mend. There is just one problem. My mommy and I are a single income household, and there has been oh so much to pay for. I have meds, follow ups, x-rays, sutures, and bandage changes. My mommy is having a hard time paying my bills.



I told her I would get a job. I could work in a cookie factory! But she says I can't, because I am retired and also I would eat all the cookies. I think she is right. It is also really hard for me to walk around right now, and hard to get in and out of the car. I am such a big boy, my mommy can't even lift me!
