Please help us raise funds to provide Moriarty Magnet Elementary School and the Norwich community with an outdoor track!
Moriarty Magnet Elementary School leads students to make mindful choices for their personal well-being through fitness, nutrition and social-emotional learning. To continue to meet this vision, we are striving to provide our students with the highest quality services including advancements in health education and offering various opportunities for physical activity within physical education classes, recess and after-school programs. The completion of a new outdoor track will enrich physical education instruction, promote increased physical activity, and ultimately benefit the wellness of Moriarty’s 450 students. The outdoor track will also enhance the Norwich community since it will be made available to the public before and after school hours.
Physical activity directly benefits student learning by improving energy, mood, enhanced concentration and attention. As a result, students will be able to regulate their behaviors in the classroom with an increased focus on subject matter. Physical activity regulates body weight, combats health conditions and diseases, and promotes better sleep.
An outdoor track will provide Moriarty Elementary students with an engaging way to be physically active along with enriching the surrounding Norwich community.
