The Power of Giving

Donation protected
On September 29, 2021, Jeffrey Holbrook lost his fight with COVID-19. He is survived by his wife, four children, ten grandchildren, two sisters, and numerous extended family members and friends. For the entirety of his battle, his family believed with all their heart’s that he would be well again and that he would find his way back to the people who loved him most.

To have known Jeff, is to have loved Jeff. He was a strong and hardworking family man who walked this earth with an immeasurable integrity that was both wholesome and complete. He never complained and was always grateful for everything God provided him. He was a steady and loyal man who had an unwavering love for his family. He was a country boy to his core as evident from the countless wild animals that would follow him around, waiting to eat from the palm of his hands.

A few years ago, Jeff and his wife Tammy finally accomplished their lifelong dream of settling into their small Wyoming homestead ripe with majestic wide-open spaces, breathtaking skies, scenery, and wildlife. It is this land that gave them all they ever dreamed of; a place where they could grow old together to live in solidarity and peace. While the home and life they built provided them with tranquility and fulfillment, their door was open to those in need.

Together, they made it a priority to always put the needs of others before their own. Their life served as an exemplar of their willingness to share all they had for anyone with an open heart and mind. Without question nor hesitation they adopted a grandson in need of a home and loving parents. A few years later, they opened their home to two granddaughters who were in dire need of stability and security. Despite these life altering acts of love, they raised these children as their own and provided them with a life of education and opportunity.

Jeff was the primary provider to their homestead for both the financial and maintenance requirements. A homestead that does not have electricity provided by the county. Their primary power source is a gas generator that requires constant upkeep as well as fuel that can only be obtained from the nearest town located an hour away. To install the necessary power infrastructure to their homestead, approximately $30,000 is required to be paid to the county. Moreover, Jeff spent over 40 days in the hospital which included a medical transport while under intensive care via helicopter to another hospital over 300 miles away from home. This medical care has incurred an unfathomable cost that will fall solely on his wife Tammy to pay while having to additionally navigate the heartbreaking loss of the love of her life.

This GoFundMe was created by his family and loved ones to provide the financial support that Tammy so desperately needs. All your generous donations will provide Tammy with the ability to provide power to their homestead so that she will not be forced to abandon the home and life that her and her late husband dedicated their lives to building. Furthermore, the gracious contributions provided here will help alleviate the financial burden of Jeff’s medical care.

Jeff’s family was his life and he loved us with all his heart. He fought for us, cared for us, and held us in his arms when we cried. He taught his children how to care for themselves and how to be as strong and stubborn as he was. He was always our caretaker and strongest ally. We know he’s hurting because he can’t be the one to fix these problems. Our daddy, husband, brother, uncle, and grandpa needs your help. Please, from the bottom of our hearts, help us, help him do what he can no longer do.

With all his love and ours, thank you.
