Bike Parking for Six Corners!

Donation protected

Six Corners Association works to raise $10,000 to make biking more convenient for residents of the Northwest side.

Community volunteers will kick off a neighbor-funding campaign to promote bicycle use and pedestrian-friendly amenities for the 6 Corners Shopping District on August 25th. Cities nationwide, as well as Chicago’s own Andersonville, Pilsen, and Logan Square neighborhoods, find that on average pedestrians spend more time and money in local, independent businesses than those traveling by vehicle.

Three bike corrals would provide 36 bicycle parking spaces and draw new customers to Six Corners. Locations for the corrals include:
-- 4018 N. Cicero Ave.
-- 4015 N. Milwaukee Ave.
-- TBD Irving Park Rd.

Six Corners is experiencing tremendous growth with 18 new businesses opening in 2014 while the popularity, awareness, and investment of bicycling infrastructure projects within the city continues to increase. Bike corrals are part of Chicago’s “Make Way for the People” initiative and “Complete Streets” program.
