Indie's Gift is all about raising money to fund 'Cloth Packs' and 'Neoboxes' for SCBU/NICU babies and their parents.
Our daughter Indie, was born 11 weeks early on the 2nd September 2013.
She was very poorly, was on life support, received Nitric Oxide, Oscillation, Ventilation and a vast array of drugs.
On the 17th October 2013, she was allowed home. Her recovery was something close to miraculous considering just how poorly she was when she was born.
On the 22nd November 2013, our lives changed forever.
Indie passed away.
We still do not understand why, something we are hoping that the inquest will be able to tell us.
I, as Indie's mummy, cannot let her death be for nothing, as so 'Indie's Gift' was born.
In our beautiful daughters name, we will strive to provide 'Cloth Packs' on NICU/SCBU units across the UK, we may have to start smaller but we believe with the help of people across the UK, our goal is achievable.
Our 'Cloth Packs' will contain the following:
1x Vest
1x Babygro
1x Hat
1x Mittens
To be put into the scary world of NICU/SCBU without a clue of whats going on, getting babies' first clothes together is not a top priority.
We hope by providing these on the wards, it eases some of the initial stress, or at the very least helps to cross one more thing off the list of to do's!
We would also like to supply 'Neoboxes' to the parents of NICU/SCBU babies.
These would contain:
Notebook & Pen
Shampoo
Shower Gel
Toothbrush and Paste
Deodorant
Flannel
& more.
We will be holding lots of fundraising events in 2014 so watch this space!
