Post Mountain Fire Victims
Donation protected
My name is Rhiannon Spiersch and my father is the Chief of the Post Mountain Volunteer Fire Department... July 29th, 2015 lightening started 60+ fires in the Shasta Trinity National Forest. The fire (known at the time as the Blue Fire, now known as the Fork Complex) got out of control... The Post Mountain Volunteer Fire Department has 7 members... Those 7 firefighters held their own on the fire. At the time there were no resources available to help on the fire. It ripped through Trinity Pines and has burned 1700+ acres, consumed 20+ homes, 200+ out buildings that people were living in.. 2 of the PMVFD firefighters lost their homes while battling this fire. We have residents who lost everything coming to the fire hall to get whatever they can... We are running low on supplies to help these families out... This community has come together to battle this fire... We have residents bringing water to the water tenders in their own personal vehicles, just trying to help in any way possible. As of right now we are unable to get in or out of the Post Mountain area... People are running out of fuel, propane, food, drinking water. We have families that are sleeping in the dirt with no blankets... so any amount of donations would be greatly appreciated
