A Year With Adam

In the late winter to early spring of 2013 my husband and best friend, Adam, had what we thought was the stomache flu. A couple of weeks later our 15 year old son kissed his Dad goodnight and noticed that he had yellow eyes. Adam went to the doctor the following Monday. The doctor ordered some tests, and the day before my husband's 51st birthday we were told he had tumors. After a few weeks of testing we were told he had cancer, the day before our daughter's 12th birthday. He was referred to an Oncologist. The Oncologist seemed to take charge and was in a hurry to determine the type of cancer. After less than a week our Oncologist sat us down and explained that my husband has Colangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). He explained that this cancer is not operable, and not curable. He expected that my husband had 6-12 months to live. We were told this all just before Mother's Day. Each week my husband has progressed and gotten weaker. It is now early June and he is in a hospital bed unable to walk, or eat. When we arrived here he could not even speak.

My husband is my best friend, father to our two awesome kids, and was our primary income provider. He worked his fanny off to allow me to be a stay at home Mom for over a decade. Our home is provided by his employer. He has not been able to work in over a month. He said his wish is to move near his brother to live out the rest of his days.

I have set up this fundraising page as we have had no income for some time, and there are the medical bills that have begun to trickle in. We don't know how long we have left with Adam, and right now working outside of the home is not an option for me as I am his primary caregiver.
