Risa is terminally ill and on hospice. Last year, KHOU did a story about Risa and her Bucket List, which included a Red Lobster dinner and a church wedding. Both came true for her. By the grace of God she is still alive one year later, but times are not easy for Risa and Johnny.
Johnny works long hours at a low-paying job that he has to keep because it offers health insurance that is paying for Risa's medications and hospice care. Unfortunately, he does not make enough to keep up with their bills and the mortgage is 3 months behind. The bank is threatening foreclosure if he can't come up with the money. Now when he should be able to spend quality time with his wife in her final days, he has to worry about keeping a roof over her head.
Last year, the wedding story touched many people who came forward to donate flowers, make-up and hair styling, photography, and a wedding cake.
Now they need help even more. They are counting on that same generosity of spirit.
