Beauty Of The Black Man Campaign

My name is Jennifer Adams.. I am  a mother, sister and friend.. I also happen to be an artist.. Photography is my medium.  Five years ago, my good friend and I were in the throws of divorce. At which point we both came to grips that we had a decision to make, would we become bitter or would we make things better. It would be extremely easy to turn our backs on the men who mirrored us, but we refused to give up on our sons. We began to find a way to focus on the positive men we knew in our circle, and we soon noticed there was no space in media for men such as these, the guy next door, our fathers, sons, neighbors. It became very apparent that there was a need for positive imagery featuring masculine darker hues. Over the next five years, I would dedicate extensive effort into capturing the beauty of beings not shown in that light. Traveling as far as the UK and Europe spreading this message of the beautifully human Black man. On February 5th, 2015. We successfully unveiled this series in my first gallery, ' The Untelevised Images Of Our Black Men and Boys". This is a grassroots effort to tell the story of the Beauty and mystery of Black Males. The money raised will be used for presentation material and merchandising.
