Raising Money for Women with Obstetric Fistula

Touched by a documentary entitled A Walk to Beautiful, I was driven to hold a benefit concert for women in Ethiopia with obstetric fistula, a common childbirth injury. This injury falls upon women all over the world, but with the inexpensive surgery, it has not remained a major issue in America. However, the resources necessary to heal the women in Ethiopia are scarce, and the haunting effects of this injury upon the woman\'s status in her tribe are even more upsetting. An organization called Healing Hands of Joy helps bring medical attention and resources, as well as resources to help get the women educated and back up on their feet. The proceeds that we get from the concert, as well as the extra donation options, will go to benefit this organization and the great things they are doing.
