I am Eshaan and I live in Bangalore, India. I am a two and a half year old and until 3 months or so ago, a regular happy child who spent all his time playing, laughing and generally being loved. But all that changed when I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called ATRT (metastatic). I had surgery to remove a large tumor in my brain in December 2014. Unfortunately for me, the entire tumor could not be removed since it extended into inoperable areas of my brain. The tumor has spread to my spine as well.
ATRT (atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor), I am told, is a very rare and fast-growing tumor of the central nervous system. It affects the brain and spine and is found in 1 to 2% of children with pediatric tumors. ATRT is difficult to cure and the survival rate is poor.
I am currently undergoing chemotherapy at a hospital in Bangalore and it has been very difficult and painful for me. It will get harder for me since the chemotherapy has not stemmed the tumor growth and it has increased in size in the past few months. I want to be rid of this disease and I hear that my best chance of beating this is to be treated at a hospital which has prior experience in treating this kind of cancer. My Mom and Dad are trying their hardest to help me get the best possible treatment. They have explored every medical option available to us and have sought help from hospitals outside of India. However, treatment costs are estimated to be close to USD 750,000 (GBP 500,000 or INR 5,00,00,000). I need your help to generate this money. This money might let me live.
