DC Class Trip

My 14-year-old son really has his heart set on going on the class trip to DC over spring break (March 15-18, 2015). He's a kind, sweet, caring kid who rarely ever asks for anything, and he wants to go on this trip so much. With my husband getting out of the Army in about a year, and me working a minimum-wage job just under full time hours, we just don't have the money to be able to pay for this trip. Because my son has Asperger's and ADHD, I would not want to send him on the trip with just his class and the chaperones, hence why I want to raise $3800 total (so I can go with him and make sure he gets through the trip okay - $1739 for him and $2000 for me, according to the paperwork). This is a dream trip that I really wanted to do when I was in high school, and never got to because my own parents couldn't afford for me to go. Based on my own experience, and again the fact that my son hardly ever asks us for anything, I really want to find a way to make this trip happen for him! This is an experience I know he will love and appreciate, because he has talked to us about it for a couple years before finding out the school has a program to go, and he's fascinated by the history and architecture in DC. I almost think he knows more about it than the people that live there!
