EPEC T-rex Repair Project
The Dawson County Economic Development Council would like your help to repair and restore the Tyrannosaurus Rex art installation located in downtown Glendive.
This very large, “life size” representation of a T-Rex has become a local cultural landmark/icon for downtown Glendive over the 29 years it has been standing. Given its very prominent downtown location and the fact that it is on the route to Makoshika State Park, one of Glendive’s stops on the Montana Dinosaur Trail, the artwork also helps announce to visitors and solidify Glendive’s reputation as a top-flight tourism destination for dinosaur enthusiasts and fossil hunters. But this artwork is in a rapidly-increasing state of disrepair. Some of the plywood panels are now completely missing. Others are severely battered by hail and wind damage. The paint on the installation is fading and chipping fast, with paint having completely flecked away in many places. There are spots of graffiti/vandalism. If something is not done soon , this beloved local landmark is going to become instead a lamented local eyesore.
We ask that you consider donating to this project to completely rebuild the installation and make it better than ever and so that it will last another three decades and beyond.
