My College Tuition

Donation protected

In 1979, when the minimum wage was $2.90, a hard-working student with a minimum-wage job could earn enough in one day (8.44 hours) to pay for one academic credit hour.
Now a days, this is almost unheard of. The cost of a decent college education has climbed exponentially, and many college students today, like myaelf, are finding it harder and harder to pursue the education necessary in order to succeed later in life.

As anyone who knows me knows, I am an ambitious girl with an interest in the medical field. I am currently attending the University of Houston(Go Coogs!) to pursue a degree in Pre-Med. I am from the DFW area. I graduated with Honors from Birdville High School, where I was also a member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society. I am a National Merit Commended Scholar.
I love writing, animals, and helping others, and now, in this time of economic hardships, I'm hoping some of Y'all may find it in your hearts to help me. :)
At this point I have about half of my tuition for the year covered by Financial Aid, but that leaves about $10,000 left, or $5,000 Per semester.
I am currently searching for a job, but between classes, my activities, and my health, I'm not sure that I will be able to work enough hours every week to pay what I need to.
I'm also currently looking to bring my charity, Handbags for Hope, to the Houston area in order to offer support to victims of domestic abuse. In order to do this though, I have to spend time working with others, and setting up and collecting donations.
I've chosen to pursue a degree in the medical field as I hope someday to become an anesthesiologist, so that I am able to help others and provide a much needed service.
I understand that these are hard times and that many young adults are also seeking ways to fund their college tuition, but everything, be it $1 to $100 or more will help more than you can imagine.

Thank you so much and have a blessed day,
Amy Wolfe
