Aider une famille endeuillée

#pourcaleb

Help a grieving family

On Wednesday, May 11, 2016, Fabienne and Jonathan lived the worst nightmare a parent can go through: the death of their 13 months old son.

Caleb will be missed not only by Fabienne and Jonathan, but also by his 3 years old brother.

We are a group of 40 moms who have been friends for over 4 years. Together, we went through our pregnancies, our deliveries, our sleepless nights ... but we never imagined that one day we would go through an ordeal as the death of the child of one of us.

As a group, we were able to raise over $1000 in an attempt to offer a little comfort to Fabienne.

Then, less than a week after the event, we learned that Fabienne will not be able to stay home to grieve the loss of her son, as she is not eligible for employment insurance benefits due to her recent return from maternity leave. Indeed, since they are not contributing to employment insurance during their maternity leave, new mothers returning to work cannot immediately benefit from payments in case they need to miss work for an extended period of time.

Faced to the absurdity of the situation, we decided to launch this page to create a solidarity movement to allow Fabienne and her family to take time to grieve without having to worry about money.

Please join us to help this young family, already deeply affected, and enable them to continue to move forward with their second boy.
