Bigger than the Bully

Too many times, we hear stories on the news about kids teasing other kids to extreme levels. Worse are the stories we read/see about a young person who takes their own life because of extreme bullying. This is a sad realty in our world today, but not one people pay serious attention to. If there was better awareness about this issue, I think people would understand, first, that this IS an issue and, second, that there are ways to help.

I was a victim of bullying and I can tell you that the effects of this have stayed with me well into my adult years. As a child, I was bullied because I looked different. Kids were very mean. Their teasing and hatred caused me to lose confidence and become depressed. Thankfully, because I have family and friends that surround me with love and support, I never gave up hope. With the encouragement of my loved ones, I accepted my imperfect appearance and learned to love myself.  This foundation will provide that support.
