Prevent and Heal Birth Trauma

Empowering Fearless Birth is an event in Utah aiming to prevent and heal birth trauma by empowering women through education to make the right choices for their birth experiences.


Whether a woman decides to give birth via elective c-section or water birth at home, women should have all the options and information available to them to make wise decisions for themselves and their families.

At the event on September 21st in Provo, Utah, over 60 professionals will gather together to teach lectures, classes and conduct panels on all birthing choices. Empowering Fearless Birth is a not-for-profit event, and our goal is to offer as many scholarships/gifts to mothers and fathers seeking the right maternal care for them.

Our keynotes will be given by Roanna Rosewood -writer, award-winning international speaker, co-founder and host of Birth Plan Radio, and the executive action chair of Human Rights in Childbirth and Amy Wright Glenn, writer and doula. The event will be filled with 50+ classes, 60 incredible vendors, film premieres from birth filmmakers, and $10,000 in donated prizes to give away. YOUR DONATION WILL SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING:

"¢ We would like to film the entire conference and make the videos available for viewing online to those who can not travel to the event. The classes will address childbirth preparation as well as many modalities of healing and recovery. Access to this conference online would provide those who normally do not have access to this quality information the opportunity to view it at home as needed. If we can fund this, it will cover the cost of production and all videos will be made available online for free. $2100

WITH ADDITIONAL FUNDING WE WILL DO THE FOLLOWING:

"¢ Partial scholarships to midwifery school for students who qualify. Better access to midwifery care can dramatically improve maternal and fetal outcomes. (Goal: 2 scholarships @ $2000 each)


"¢ Grants for access to culturally appropriate pre-natal care for women of minorities (through the Community Health Clinic). Prenatal care for one mother is approximately $600.


"¢ Subsidy gifts to women who need postpartum care to help with postpartum depression and mood disorders. $varies based on woman's needs.


"¢ Gift of labor doulas and support for women who do not have the support of a partner (fathers who are away in military service, single mothers, etc). (The cost of 1 doula for a laboring mother is $600)
