I am an unemployed millennial. We are the screwed generation.
We never asked to be born, and our lives come with a price tag. Debt and forced labor are the legacy we inherited. The resources needed to sustain life have been turned into commodities only accessible to those who accept a life of enslavement or were born into wealth. This has to change before another generation falls victim to the exploitation of the wealthy elite.
Slaves are not able to free other slaves. I can live comfortably on less than $20,000 a year and can reasonably expect to live another 50 years. One million dollars will permanently emancipate me from the enslavement of capitalism.
Having one million dollars now (instead of working a dead-end minimum wage job for the next 50 years to acquire that amount) allows me to drastically reduce my cost of living through upfront investments in sustainable methods of meeting my basic needs long term.
Instead of hoarding these savings to improve upon my personal status quo and live free until I die, I will use them to initiate a project focused on developing a self-sufficient, sustainable method for supporting the basic needs of human beings without forced labor. Instead of attempting to generate profit or create jobs, I will develop a working, reproducible model for sustainable harvesting of food, water, and energy to support life without enslaving it. This method will be designed to increase in efficiency as it grows in scale and allow me to emancipate others at an accelerating rate. I will not be emancipating random people, but people who will reinvest their diverse talents and emancipated lives into this project.
I was born a slave to capitalism. With your help, I can escape a life of enslavement to become a liberator of slaves. With your help, I will build an alternative to capitalist enslavement because I want more from this life, and I am not the only one.
Capitalism is a house of cards ready to topple itself at any moment. It is not a sustainable system and will inevitably fail on its own accord. With your help, I will dedicate the rest of my days to building a sustainable alternative instead of lining the pockets of slave masters just to survive.
