Michael A. Romero's Funeral

Donation protected
Hello family & friends, I’m taking this time in an attempt to reach out to you all in desperate need of your assistance. Recently, my brother and great friend passed away unexpectedly on September 10th, 2014, less than 3 days after his 48th birthday. I’m going to take this time now to try my best to introduce you to him with my words. His name is Michael Romero, a man I believe to be humble, giving and filled with love. Michael's passing was a very unfortunate, unexpected tragedy to us all. Over the past 20 years Michael has endured a rough life. Most recently, which may have caused his body to diminish was 12 years ago. On June 24th, 2002 Michael was shot in the neck by a drunken roommate trying to force him off his own phone. After nearly losing his life and a little over a month in ICU, Michael began to recover only to be waking up to a doctor telling him he was now paralyzed from the chest down and will never walk again. After spending several months in Rehabilitation centers, Michael began to start being overwhelmed with depression. Who goes from spending the last dime in their pocket to becoming paralyzed from the same people he tried to help. In early 2009, Michael was again cursed by injury when he was ran over while in his wheel chair, breaking his femur and tearing just about every ligament in his shoulder. Another several months rehabilitating, Michael then began living with his family again (3 daughters & 1 son). On October 28th, 2009, Michaels son; Michael JR was riding his bike home from a local convenience store with a friend when a vehicle pulled up and began shooting at them mistakenly taking them for enemies, killing Michaels son at the age of 17. I remember showing up to my brothers home after witnessing my nephews body 2 houses down from where he lived, laying in the middle of the street. My brother couldn’t even get out of his bed due to his injuries. Since then, if you can only imagine how tough life has been for him, multiple headaches at night, insomnia, Pneumonia hospitalizations, the list goes on. On September 7th 2014 my brother celebrated his 48th birthday, on September 10th 2014 our brother Michael passed away too soon. One of the things I admire most of my brother is although he went through all this pain and suffering, he continued to give back to the community every chance he had, running toy drives during Christmas, turkey give aways for the less fortunate during Thanksgiving, Car shows & concerts introducing some of the biggest names in music to people whom may have never had the chance to witness them in person. He leaves behind now, 6 children; Monique, Justine, Ashley, Brandy, Angel & Star. We have a really long way to go before we reach our goal of laying him to rest alongside his son/ my nephew Mikey Romero. Anything will help, I pray this message finds you all promptly and with the most Sincerity I can express. I thank you for taking the time to read about my beautiful brother. Sincerely, John Romero, Family & Friends. God Bless
