(The Elephant) is a collective effort of many. Our Philosophy is, "GIVE a man a fish, he eats for a DAY. TEACH a man to fish, he eats for a LIFETIME."
Our goal is to work in the villages to Share the Gospel, teach Rain Water Collection, Keyhole Gardening, Rocket Stoves, and Bee Keeping.
Key Hole Garden Techniques: It provides many crops to a single family in a small area using less water than conventional gardening.
Water Catchment Systems: Water = LIFE. Water Collection Systems, allow water to be collected during the rainy season, filtered, stored, and used by families throughout the dry season.
Bee Keeping: Bees pollinate crops, flowers, and fruit trees. Their honey is a food source. A Bee Club has already been started. (Pictured Below)
Rocket Stoves: Rocket Stoves are made from local, on hand materials, and use 1/10th the wood that a normal cooking fire would consume. They burn so efficiently there is little to no exhaust from the fire. According to the World Health Organization, women in developing countries using open fires for cooking, make up for ‘half a million of the 1.3 million annual deaths due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) among women worldwide”. We have already begun some of the groundwork necessary for this huge project, hence the name... (The Elephant). The volunteers helping in this project will be leaving the end of May and spending the whole month of June 2017, to begin these projects. The donations needed are immediate and ongoing, and all proceeds will go 100% to the projects. We thank you in advance for your interest and for your generous donations, and we hope that there will be many that will want to partner with us on an ongoing basis to continue bringing these projects to multiple villages year after year.
